Us partners of OPFH Frubézar are farmers of the meadows of the Guadalquivir in Cordoba, of Genil in Seville and in the valley of the Tiétar in Cáceres. We cultivate oranges, walnuts and almonds in a land area which totals 1408 hectares.
Frubézar’s history is relatively short. We were granted the licence for fruit and vegetable production in December, 2018. We are eight partners in total, amongst whom there are families with a farming tradition of more than eight hundred years. We embrace this phase as producers with great enthusiasm, and we accept the responsibility of supplying national and international markets with our best products. We carry out sustainable farming, and we also are committed to saving water and protecting the environment.
We make our processes transparent to the client and we strictly conform to the legislation of food standards. We are certified by Global GAP.
The search for and adaptation of our tree varieties have been carried out by farmers and technicians of Frubézar, accompanied by entities as prestigious as ETSIAM and The University of California. When working with trees, risks are assumed well before their plantation. The search for plants that adapt well to the climate and soil, financing, innovation in farming techniques, as well as investment in technology and R+D, have been essential for our plantations to perform so well at a low cost, and to produce high quality fruit.
Our orange, walnut and almond groves capture between 20 and 50 per cent of carbon in the air which they transform and purify. They are the so called drainers of CO2 . All the biomass of the tree, trunk, branches, leaves and roots constitutes the storage of CO2. . This benefit for the environment is carried out in a silent and permanent way.
